CLEVELAND — What started as a mission to outfit a single police dog with a life-saving bulletproof vest, has turned an Ohio 10-year-old into a philanthropist who has helped more than 250 dogs in law enforcement departments across the country.
“We can’t thank Brady enough for what he has done for us and every other K9 he has vested,” the Bedford Police Department said on social media after their K-9 Luca became a recent recipient.
The vests are specially designed for the dogs to be able to wear for an extended period of time. Because of Brady’s charitable efforts, the manufacturer offers the $1,200 jackets to him at the same cost as law enforcement.
To date, Brady has donated 259 bulletproof vests.
