TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — A Florida lottery winner got some more good news this week.
Leonard Linton, 42, of the Panhandle town of Pinetta, credited his pregnant dog for helping him win a $2 million scratch-off game earlier this month, Florida Lottery officials said in a news release. On June 23, the dachshund, Ivy, delivered a litter of six puppies.
Linton opted to take a $1.645 million lump sum after scratching off the winner in the 100X the Cash game, lottery officials said. He bought the winning ticket in Live Oak while making a quick stop after receiving a call that Ivy was not feeling well.
Linton said there are four males and two females in Ivy’s litter. And to commemorate his good fortune earlier this month, Linton named one of the female puppies Milli -- short for million, lottery officials said.
