Ex-NFL star Marshawn Lynch hands out 200 Thanksgiving turkeys in Hawaii

HONOLULU — From Beast Mode to feast mode. Former NFL running back Marshawn Lynch was in a giving mode Monday as he handed out 200 free turkeys near Honolulu’s Aloha Stadium.

Lynch, who led the Seattle Seahawks to back-to-back Super Bowl appearances, including a 43-8 victory against Denver in Super Bowl XLVIII, began handing off the free turkeys beginning at 10:30 a.m. local time, KHON reported. The birds were given out on a first-come, first-serve basis, the television station reported.

Lynch’s charity, Fam 1st Family Foundation, partnered with Young’s Fish Market, Tamura Super Market, Barefoot League Hawaii and others in the giveaway, according to KHON.

Former Hawaii football star Chad Owens also helped to distribute the turkeys, the television station reported.

In April, Lynch rode through a park in Oakland on a Beast Mode cart, handing out face masks, according to SB Nation.

Lynch, 34, played 12 seasons in the NFL after starring at the University of California, the Mercury News reported.

He rushed for 10,413 yards and scored 85 touchdowns in the regular season, and also caught nine touchdown passes. In the postseason, Lynch rushed for 970 yards and scored 12 touchdowns.
