In a preview clip of an interview with “Good Morning America” set to air on Friday, Will Packer said the arrest did not happen because Rock was “dismissive” about pressing charges, ABC News reported.

“They were saying, you know, ‘This is battery,’ was a word they used in that moment,” Packer said. “They said, ‘We will go get him. We are prepared. We’re prepared to get him right now. You can press charges, we can arrest him.’”

“They were laying out the options. And as they were talking, Chris was -- he was being very dismissive of those options. He was like, ‘No, no, no, I’m fine.’ And even to the point where I said, ‘Rock, let them finish.’ The LAPD officers finished laying out what his options were and they said, ‘Would you like us to take any action?’ And he said no. He said no.”

Packer also told ABC News that he did not speak with Smith on Sunday night.

The comedian was confronted by Smith, who walked onstage and slapped Rock, The Associated Press reported.

Pinkett Smith has a shaved head and suffers from alopecia, a hair-loss condition, according to the AP.

After returning to his seat in the audience, Smith shouted, “Keep my wife’s name out of your (expletive) mouth,” Variety reported.
