She’s an “American Girl;” not the Tom Petty variety

This doll represents the greatest decade of music and pop culture

There’s no doubt many of us who grew up in the 1980s, are now parents and grandparents to kids who love American Girl dolls.

This past week two 80s music icons, Belinda Carlisle and Gina Shock of the Go-Go’s, helped introduce the newest historical American Girl. And this doll is all about the 1980s.

By way of the official Go-Go’s Instagram page, meet “Courtney Moore,” a fervent “video-game lover with a totally rad style who dreams to make games of her own.”

According to Gina Shock, who appeared on the Today Show with Carlisle, “Courtney” is an “interesting girl, she’s all about female empowerment, and start when you’re very young. And we’re all for young girls getting out there doing their thing and making a difference in this world.”

“Courtney’s” even got her own music video.

So, if you’re a child of the 80s, you might think about treating the American Girl Doll lover in your life, with a “retro doll" from one of the greatest decades of music and pop culture. Find out more here.
