A 2019 documentary on the early days of MTV will have it’s television premiere on the A&E network Sept. 8 (9pm EST).
“I Want My MTV” debuted at the Tribeca film festival last year and became a fan favorite at film festivals around the world. The filmmakers go behind the scenes to show just how difficult it was for MTV to get added to the nation’s cable providers. “I Want My MTV” includes exclusive interviews with the networker’s founders, VJ’s, artists, and journalists along with rarely seen outtakes and archival footage. According to aetv.com, “Interview subjects include Sting, Pat Benatar, Billy Idol, Annie Lennox, Nancy Wilson, Fab Five Freddy, Norman Lear, Darryl “DMC” McDaniels, among many others.” Catch the television premiere of “I Want My MTV” Sept 8 (9pm EST) on the A&E Network.
