On The Anniversary Of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s Passing Watch An Up Close Look At His #1 Guitar

Watch as we visit The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s exhibit “Play It Loud” to take an up close look at Stevie Ray Vaughan’s #1 guitar.

August 27th 1990 was a sad day for Rock and Blues fans because we lost guitarist extraordinaire Stevie Ray Vaughan in a helicopter crash at only 35 years old.

In a short amount of time Stevie’s playing had elevated him to a legendary status.

Part of the myth of SRV was his Fender Strat #1 guitar.

It was looked upon as an instrument akin to King Arthur’s Excalibur sword.

In the video below we take an up close look at Stevie’s #1 guitar as we remember him on the anniversary of his passing.

To learn more about Stevie you can listen to a conversation I had with Alan Paul and Andy Aledort about their book “Texas Flood: The Inside Story Of Stevie Ray Vaughan” here.
